N8 to revive Nokia

Nokia believe that the company's fortunes can be turned around with the launch of the new N8, the first handset to use the new Symbian^3 OS.
In a speech yesterday the CEO told analysts "We are approaching the end of this painful product transition at the high end of our product portfolio,"
I believe that Symbian did have their chance. Don't get me wrong the N95 8gb was great for its time. But after that everything changed, the N96 came out at the same time as the Samsung Omni I8910 HD which was running the same OS (S60 5th Edition). The Samsung completely blew the Nokia out of the water. From that day I knew that the Finns would really struggle to compete against the Koreans.

Nokia's best option would be to trash all ideas of Symbian^3 and either go all out on Symbian^4 which is risky when factoring market share lost to competitors (HTC, Apple) during the time it takes to release a product running this new OS, or they can bite the bullet and put their hands up and admit that they are incapable of producing a decent OS and opt to use a skinned version of Android 2.2 Froyo or even 3.0 gingerbread.
